Grameena Dock Sevak staff stage dharna
Protesting against the indifferent attitude of Central government in respect to resolving their demands, All India Grameena Dock Sevak Union has called for an indefinite strike. Staging a dharna at Chittoor Head Post office on Thursday , the leaders of AIGDSU have made it clear that there was no way except for resorting to indefinite strike in which above 1,200 Dock Sevaks pertaining to Chitto

Staging a dharna at Chittoor Head Post office on Thursday , the leaders of AIGDSU have made it clear that there was no way except for resorting to indefinite strike in which above 1,200 Dock Sevaks pertaining to Chittoor, Madanapalli, Palamaner and Punganur post office branches have taken part in the agitation.
Addressing the agitating GDS employees, P Narayana Swamy, president, Chittoor Division AIGDSU, decried that Grameena Dock Sevaks were leading miserable life due to meager salary and lack of job security. “The government should implement the recommendations of GDS committee. Apart from it, these GDS employees should be promoted as civil servants in the department.
