Rajamahendravaram Urban superintendent of police B Raja Kumari has said that it is the duty of the police to protect public properties, during the inauguration of the training programme to armed reserve women constables here on Thursday.

Later, she underscored the need to imbibe confidence among the people with their performance and activities and advised them to avail the training programme to prove their efficiency.

During training period the faculty teaches about various acts such as evidence act, CRPC, IPA etc. As many as 181 women constables from 13 districts are participating in the training programme for a period of nine months. Library facility is also provided in the training school.

After completion of five years as armed constable, they can opt for civil constable post, she added. At present all the selected candidates are raw candidates and they will walk out of the training as full-fledged constables into the society.

Additional superintendents of police RG Rao (law and order), Rajani Kanth (administration), training centre vice-principal M Satyanandam, deputy superintendents of police K Rama Krishna, G Srinivas, A Satyananrayana and other officials were present.
