Visakhapatnam: A man and his four-year-old son drowned in Yarada beach when they ventured in to the waters in Vizag on Saturday. The deceased were identified as N Rajasekhar (35), an NRI, and his N Surya (4) of Vijayawada. The New Port police said that Rajasekhar came to Vizag a few days ago to see his second son, who was born few days back.

On Saturday evening, he along with his son and a few others had gone to Yarada beach for site seeing. While swimming, Rajasekhar and his son were caught in a strong current which took them deep inside the sea. Though Rajasekhar was rescued, he died on the way to hospital and Surya had gone missing. Police registered a case and are investigating.
