5.36L houses will be built before March: Narayana
Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that the government was committed to complete 5.36 lakh houses in the state either by December 18, if not by March 19. He visited housing project at Ash Pond in Venkateswara Puramon Monday, where 4,800 houses were being built.

“As much as 30 per cent of population lives in urban areas and 70 per cent in rural areas. 7 lakh people do not have own houses and we will provide houses to all by 2022, he stated.
Narayana said that as many as 5.36 lakh houses were sanctioned and asserted that the would be no compromise on quality of works. “The housing projects complex will havea community hall, school, sports complex, shopping complex, and other facilities. NCC, L&T, and KMV construction companies are taking up the projects,” he said and warned that they would penalise the companies if the deadlines were not met.
District collector R Mutyala Raju said they had taken measures to construct 61,467 houses in urban areas t. “We will acquire private lands if necessary for taking up housing projects where government lands are not available. We have picked ash pond area from GENCO after allocating alternative land of 60 acres to the plant management,” he explained.
