They also found fault with the BJP and TDP for misleading people by citing reasons like financial feasibility, return on investment, unavailability of natural sources and others.

Addressing the public meeting, after taking out a rally in support of steel plant, here on Monday, CPI state secretary Ramakrishna alleged that committees at the behest of leaders gave unfavourable reports over setting up of steel plant in the district. “People of Kadapa district have no option except intensify the agitation,” he said.

Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy said that youth were deprived of possibility of getting jobs due to the Centre and State’s U-turn on steel plant. Former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy said due to lack of employment opportunities, thousands of educated youth have been migrating to other States to work as construction labour and other menial jobs. PCC chief Raghuveera Reddy flayed CM for neglecting Kadapa development.
