Andhra Pradesh Arya Vysya Mahasabha president Jayanti Venkateswarlu demanded that Prof. Kancha Ilaiah, who wrote a book on Arya Vysyas should be arrested for making derogatory comments on the Vysyas in his book. He said the book was very offensive and it should be banned immediately.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Arya Vysya Mahasabha president Jayanti Venkateswarlu demanded that Prof. Kancha Ilaiah, who wrote a book on Arya Vysyas should be arrested for making derogatory comments on the Vysyas in his book. He said the book was very offensive and it should be banned immediately.

Jayanti Venkateswarlu along with other Arya Vysya Mahasabha leaders spoke to media, here on Wednesday. He said the book title ‘Samajika Smugglerlu Komatollu was very derogatory. “Nobody has right to criticize the people of other castes,” Venkateswarlu said. He demanded that the Telangana government should immediately arrest Kancha Ilaiah.

Former MLA Velampalli Srinivas has said such books and comments would create law and order problem in the society. He strongly condemned the book and views expressed by Ilaiah and demanded that the author should tender apology.

Arya Vysya Mahasabha state secretary Punugonda Subbarayudu came down heavily on the professor saying that he made such harsh comments on Brahmins too and demanded that he should desist such acts. Subbarayudu felt Ilaiah could have spoken to Arya Vysyas and collected opinions before writing the book.
