Visakhapatnam: HPCL has been proactively working towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by involving stakeholders through various innovative campaigns, workshops to rekindle mass awareness for a lasting behavioural change towards achieving the Swachh Bharat. As part of the mission, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Visakh Refinery took out a rally on ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ on Wednesday from Malkapuram to Yarada Park to promote awareness.

Executive Director-Visakh Refinery GSVSSS Prasad Sarma flagged off the rally at Malkapuram. Speaking on the occasion, Sarma explained the importance of cleanliness in surrounding areas and various initiatives taken up by HPCL under ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign. Referring the high rise of viral fevers particularly dengue and typhoid, Sarma stressed the urgent need to clean the surroundings.

Over 1,000 personnel, including students from GVMC schools at Malkapuram, Gandhigram and Sriharipuram, Nanhikalis, employees and citizens, participated in the rally and promoted awareness on cleanliness and personal hygiene. The HPCL-VR provided compactor vehicles, aprons to sanitary staff, steel dust bins to GVMC.

Chief General Manager-Minor Projects Y Sriramulu, General Manager-HR Narisetty Raja Rao, union leaders, HPCL SC and ST Employees Welfare Association were present.
