Prominent Dalit scholar Professor Kancha Ilaiah's book on Vysyas – Samajika Smugglarlu Komatollu has landed in legal trouble. A petition was filed against the book in the Supreme Court.
The petition was filed by Arya Vysya Association leader and lawyer Ramanjaneyulu in the Apex Court. Stating that the book has hurt the feelings of the Arya Vysya community, the petitioner also said that the book was written without any evidence and historical facts.
Protests are being staged in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by the community demanding that both governments should ban the book.
