Hyderabad: During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday, the southwest monsoon was weak over Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

As a result isolated rain occurred in the coastal districts of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram. Dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema, the Met department bulletin said on Wednesday.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in coastal Andhra Pradesh were: Ichchapuram (Srikakulam) 2, Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram), Palasa, Mandasa (both in Srikakulam) and Kurupam (Vizianagaram) one each.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated/few/many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and at isolated/few places in Rayalaseema from, September 21 to 24. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.

The bulletin stated that Tuesday‘s low pressure area over the north coastal Odisha and its neighbourhood now lies over north Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood.

The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above the mean sea level. The trough from Chhattisgarh to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema is persisting.
