The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) felicitated Dhanumuri Jishita who bagged gold medal in the under 14 world youth chess championship held in Uruguay from September 16 to September 26.

The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) felicitated Dhanumuri Jishita who bagged gold medal in the under 14 world youth chess championship held in Uruguay from September 16 to September 26. In a felicitation function organised by SAAP at IGMC Stadium here, several chess organisers and officials of sports authority praised her excel in the chess game.

SAAP managing director N Bangaru Raju said that nearly 150 countries participated in the chess championship but Jishita had got first prize. He also said the SAAP would extend all its support to her in future.

Andhra Pradesh Chess Association secretary D Srihari said that Jishita had faced tough competition from Russian player in the championship. He congratulated her for her success. SAAP OSD Ramakrishna, AP Chess Association president YD Ramana Rao and several officials were also present.
