Kakinada: East Godavari district collector Kartikeya Mishra on Friday directed the officials to increase working days to 100 for all the job seeking families under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
Reviewing the progress of works under NREGS at his camp office here, Mishra said that it was targeted to provide 100 days of work to 72,000 families in the district during this financial year and 13,000 families were provided with 100 working days so far, he added.
He suggested the NREGS officials to prepare a work plan to provide 100 wage days to 10,000 families per each week in the coming days and asked them to achieve this result without confining to the targets fixed to them earlier.
