Janaki, a house wife from Pattabhipuram, was taken aback after hearing prices of vegetables at Rythu Bazaar where the brinjals which were sold a kg per Rs 19 hardly a week ago is now priced at Rs 40 and the tomato was Rs 9 a few days ago which is now being sold at Rs 40 per kg.

Nalini Siddaraju’s experience is a different one, her favourite shopping mall at Lakshmipuram area, gave her a shock when she entered the mall to buy her weekly stock of fruits and vegetables. There is three to five times of price variation and like many others she has no option other than buying.
