Polytechnic girl drowns in Kurnool Cuddapah canal

Pamulapadu SI G Sudhakar Reddy said Lavanya, accompanied by four of her friends, had gone to the nearby canal for having a holy dip on the occasion of Karthika Masam.
While Lavanya was taking a dip, others were on the canal bund watching her. But unfortunately, Lavanya slipped and was dragged away by the current. On hearing the screams of her friends, the nearby residents ran to the spot. However, by the time they could rescue her, the girl died. The locals who retrieved the body informed police. Lavanya was a polytechnic student pursuing EEE at Nandyal Polytechnic.
