Kadapa: Endowments Minister P Manikyala Rao said on Saturday that the government will take initiative for developing Mallem Kondeswara Swamy temple at Brahmanapalli village in Gopavaram mandal as tourist spot.

Speaking to the media after participating in the Karthika pooja programme at Brahmanapalli, he said Mallem Kondeswara Swamy temple is very powerful place as the devotees in large number are thronging the temple during the Karthika Masam on every Monday. Keeping interest of devotees in mind, the Minister said that the government is committed to improve infrastructure facilities of the temple.

The Minister added the government will develop the Gopavaram mandal by supplying water for drinking and agriculture needs through Pattiseema project. Manikyala Rao stated that the mandal will witness more development if backwaters from Somasila reaches villages The Minister said he was fortunate for participating in the Karthika pooja in Mallem Kondeswara Swamy temple. Badvel MLA T Jayaramulu said that people of Badvel were fortunate as Kondeswara Swamy temple located in Badvel constituency. He urged the Minister to take steps for releasing the funds as the earliest for making the temple as tourist spot. Rajampet RDO Veerabrahmam, former Badvel MLA Vijayamma and others were present.
