Visakhapatnam: A book exhibition was organised on Wednesday at Queens Mary Girls High school located at Old Town to mark national-level Golden Jubilee celebration of libraries. The programme was organised on the school premises and inaugurated by General Manager of Visakha Container Terminal Private Limited V Parthasarathy.

Over 100 girl students and 50 school staff participated in the programme. In-charge of the school Chinna Suryanarayana presided over the programme. Around 400 books in Telugu and English literature were displayed. Interacting with the students, Parthasarathy said that 'a book is more than a good friend' was the theme behind the programme.

He also spoke about the importance of books in the students’ life and the enormous knowledge that can be gained by reading books regularly. The books in display also reflected the most popular Telugu literature books and would help in moulding the personalities of the schoolchildren and prepare them for the future.
