The Chief Hydrographer to the Government of India, Vice Admiral Vinay Badhwar, arrived here on Wednesday on a two-day visit to Eastern Naval Command. 

Visakhapatnam: The Chief Hydrographer to the Government of India, Vice Admiral Vinay Badhwar, arrived here on Wednesday on a two-day visit to Eastern Naval Command.

The Chief Hydrographer called on Chief of ENC Vice-Admiral Karambir Singh and held discussions. Vice-Admiral Badhwar reviewed the hydrographic activities in the Eastern Naval Command and interacted with officers and sailors of hydrographic branch onboard INS Sandhayak.

Badhwar heads the Indian Naval Hydrographic Department (INHD), an Indian government agency, responsible for hydrographic surveys and nautical charting in the country.

The hydrographic department is also responsible for making electronic navigational charts officially on behalf of the Government of India and has also signed an MoU with friendly countries for surveying their waters as part of international cooperation.
