Penukonda: Local legislator B K Parthasarathi on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the Rs 14-crore road. He said that the promises made in 2014 TDP election manifesto would be implemented one after the other. The Chandrababu Naidu government in the State has been giving top priority to development in spite of hefty Rs 16,000-crore budget deficit.

The MLA said that construction of a drinking water overhead tank at a cost of Rs 5.2 crore, CC road works costing Rs 5 crore and Rs 3 lakh for development of a park in the middle of the town have been sanctioned, he said. He lauded the efforts of the Chief Minister to develop state capital Amaravati at a whopping cost of Rs 38,000 crore.

The MLA criticised the Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy for undertaking padayatra when the state is on high road to development. The assurances being made by YS Jagan during his padayatra are not feasible to implement, he said.
