Reviewing the educational progress with officials at the Collectorate here on Thursday, the Collector said that out of  14,753 teachers in 2,956 aided and government schools, about 13,100 teachers have been enrolled for biometric attendance. 

Eluru: District Collector K Bhaskar expressed displeasure over the implementation of biometric attendance in schools in West Godavari district. Reviewing the educational progress with officials at the Collectorate here on Thursday, the Collector said that out of 14,753 teachers in 2,956 aided and government schools, about 13,100 teachers have been enrolled for biometric attendance.

He questioned the officials about the remaining 1,653 teachers. Only 80 per cent attendance was being recorded daily, he stated. He directed officials to enrol the remaining 1,653 teachers for biometric attendance. He reiterated that the teachers’ attendance every day should be 95 per cent and above and the DEO should entrust the task of monitoring the attendance by engaging two employees in the DEO office.

The Collector said that the Central and State governments are spending crores of rupees for the development of the education. He directed the officials to extend the qualitative education to the students, Besides this, the officials should provide basic amenities in the schools. He directed officials to prepare proposals for the books and uniform to the students in advance for the ensuing academic year.
