Tirupati: Demanding the merger of APSRTC into government, the Employees Union (EU) took out a rally in Tirupati on Friday. The rally started at Ambedkar Statue and reached RTC Regional Manager’s office via Gandhi Statue where they sat down raising slogans in support of their demands.

Addressing the workers, EU state Deputy General Secretary Avula Prabhakar, state Secretary Prakash and district Secretary Satyanarayana have demanded for separate chart to women conductors.

The other demands include Rs 10 lakhs ex-gratia to the kin of deceased employees, cancellation of hired buses, implementation of timings to the one-man services in Tirumala and Tirupati, resolving traffic problem at Ram Bagicha guest house, providing special employment opportunities for medically unfit employees, filling up of vacancies in garage and considering 60-day strike period during Samaikyandhra agitation as special leave.

They also demanded the Corporation to get the State’s share in 13 assets which are in Telangana. EVS Manyam, Purshotham, Chengalrayulu, Gurunatham and others have participated. They later submitted a memorandum to in-charge Regional Manager Narasimhulu.
