Anantapur: The Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank (APGB) which has been extending services to the small and marginal farmers, besides various sections of people, has launched home loan campaign from January 1 to February 28. Bank’s Regional Manager (RM) L Jayasimha Reddy announced here on Wednesday, after inaugurating a ‘loan mela’ in the office here.

He said the mela was being organised to enable everyone to fulfill the dream of owing a house. Loans would be extended for buying a house/carrying out repairs, with a low interest of 8.45 per cent for Rs 50 lakh and more.

There would be an interest waiver of Rs 2.67 lakh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for building houses in villages/towns and Rs 7.5 lakh without filing IT returns. Reddy appealed to the account-holders to avail themselves of the scheme.

He sanctioned immediate loans to those hailing from Ramachandra Nagar and Medical College. During the day, he said loans totaling Rs 50 lakh have been sanctioned for five new houses in the region. Among those present were Chief Manager S Mastan Vali, Senior Managers N Kameswara Rao, K Sankar Narayana and M Venkateswarlu, and officials of various wings of Anantapur.
