Director General of Police applauds kind hearted cop
Director General of Police (DGP) M Malakondaiah has appreciated police constable Mallesh for his kindness towards a mentally retarded person.
Kurnool: Director General of Police (DGP) M Malakondaiah has appreciated police constable Mallesh for his kindness towards a mentally retarded person. The constable tried his best for reuniting the mentally challenged person with his family members. The DGP appreciated him and ordered District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jetty to announce a reward.
Some days ago, constable Mallesh of Panyam police station, came across a person sleeping in front of the police station. He tried to know the details; but the person was unable to reveal his identity.
Mallesh took the mentally retarded person Srikanth with him and provided food and shelter for over one month. He kept on asking about the phone numbers and dialled to the given numbers. The numbers proved to be wrong ones. Ultimately, he asked the person to write the phone number on the paper. With the written phone number, Mallesh was able to contact the right family members.
Srikanth’s father, Pandu Yadav on receiving information, came to Panyam from Hyderabad and found their missing child. They profusely thanked constable Mallesh and took Srikanth with them. On learning about the incident, the DGP appreciated him and recommended for a reward. The SP Gopinath Jetty announced a reward of Rs 5,000 to Mallesh.
