Kadapa: Devotional fervour marked the Tiruchi Dhwajarohanam ceremony of Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy located at Devunikadapa in the city, as part of the 10-day annual festival held here on Thursday. Temple chief priest M Krishna accompanied by archakas, who came from Tiruchanur, have decorated the Dhwajastambham with a portrait of Garuda Alvar at an event organised in the presence of devotees, amid fervour and gaiety.

Earlier, the priests conducted Tirumanjanam and special rituals to the idols of Lord Venkateswara and his consort Goddess Lakshmi by chanting Vedic mantras in a traditional manner.

TTD Deputy Executive Officer Lakshman Naik, who supervised the arrangements, told the media persons that Brahmotsavams of Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy would be performed from January 17 to 22 in the temple. He said that Garuda Seva would be performed on January 22, and the event would be concluded with Pushpa Yagam on January 27.
