Andhra Pradesh unit Congress president N Raghuveera Reddy met with AICC president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, he accused the ruling parties of AP and Telangana of succumbing to pressure from the Centre.

Stating that the two Chief Ministers of the Telugu states are not addressing the completion of the Polavaram project or are sure about special category status/packages because of the pressure, he said that Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao are only focussed on getting increasing the number of seats in the assemblies.

Raghuveera Reddy said that while Congress is not against the move, they are unable to understand the priorities of the two leaders.

He further said that the Congress and allies will insist on inclusion of special status and other promises made to them during bifurcation if bills on increasing the number of seats alone are introduced in Parliament.
