Couple held for cheating medical seat aspirant
The cops took a couple into custody for cheating a medical seat aspirant and presented them before the media here on Thursday evening in the presence of Adoni DSP YBPTA Prasad.
Mantralayam (Kurnool): The cops took a couple into custody for cheating a medical seat aspirant and presented them before the media here on Thursday evening in the presence of Adoni DSP YBPTA Prasad.
Speaking to the media, the DSP said one Aravind, a resident of Mantralayam, had lodged a complaint against Ramana Rao alias Venkataramana and his wife Nirmala alias Nirmala Kannan, who were residents of Nellore, for collecting Rs 15 lakh by promising to secure a medial seat to his son.
After receiving the amount, Venkataramana neither helped Aravind’s son in getting a medical seat nor responded to the calls made by Aravind, instead, he made it clear to Aravind that he won’t return the cash. Aravind approached the District SP and lodged a complaint. On the directions of SP, a team led by Mantralayam Circle Inspector D Ramu has arrested the couple in Nellore.
The DSP said that the duo not only cheated Aravind but several others by promising to secure medical and engineering seats under NRI quota. The accused will be produced in the court for further action, the DSP stated.
