Three cops suspended for intimidating foreign nationals
Rural S P Ch Vijaya Rao suspended three constables working in intelligence department in the district for intimidating Ireland American nationals during their visit to district one month ago.
Guntur: Rural S P Ch Vijaya Rao suspended three constables working in intelligence department in the district for intimidating Ireland American nationals during their visit to district one month ago.
According to police, the Ireland and American nationals came to Guntur district to attend their friends’ marriage. During their visit to district, intelligence constables Pradeep, Srinivas and Raviteja asked them to show their passports, visa and allegedly demanded money.Later, the foreign nationals lodged a complaint to embassy after going to their countries.
When the foreign embassy forwarded the complaint to Director General of Police, who ordered for inquiry into incident. After getting primary inquiry report, Guntur Rural S P Ch Vijaya Rao suspended them and issued orders to this effect.
