The Sarpavaram Police led by the Circle Inspector of Police DS Chaitanya Krishna have arrested the accused professor of JNTU, Kasarapu Babulu (46). Speaking at a press meet at the Sarpavaram Police Station here on Thursday, Kakinada SDPO Ravi Varma disclosed the details of the case. 

Kakinada: The Sarpavaram Police led by the Circle Inspector of Police DS Chaitanya Krishna have arrested the accused professor of JNTU, Kasarapu Babulu (46). Speaking at a press meet at the Sarpavaram Police Station here on Thursday, Kakinada SDPO Ravi Varma disclosed the details of the case.

He said that as per the instructions of the District Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni, the CI Chaitanya Krishna probed the case and arrested the accused professor Babulu at the Postal Colony in Rajamahendravaram on Wednesday evening.

SDPO Ravi Varma informed that 21 female M Tech students gave a complaint about the harassment of the professor to the registrar on January 29, and the same was forwarded to the police. He also said that the police registered a case under Nirbhaya Act and other Sections (354, 354A and 509). The accused professor was produced before the mobile court magistrate and sent to remand he added.
