Telugu Desam members on Tuesday staged protests causing the Lok Sabha proceedings to be adjourned on Tuesday.

Joined by the YSR Congress members, they raised slogans in the House demanding special facilities for Andhra Pradesh.

Despite several requests made by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, the agitated members continued their protests during Question Hour.

Many members of the House were seen holding placards with slogans - ‘Follow Alliance Dharma Now’, ‘Save AP Save Democracy’, and ‘We demand Special Status for AP’.

TDP vowed to continue pressurising the Centre to allocate funds for AP earlier this week following Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s budget which did not address the state’s needs.

After Question Hour also, the protesting members were asked to go back to their seats by the Speaker who termed their behaviour as ‘unruly’.
