Ongole: CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna demanded that the ruling TDP should support the bandh called by Left parties or release a white paper on the implementation of promises made to the state by the Union government.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Ramakrishna claimed that the proposed bandh callled for February 8 was gaining support from various parties and people’s organisations.

He said that the Congress and YSRCP had already supported the call along with various mass organisations of north Andhra, Rayalaseema, trade unions, farmers associations and minority organisations.

He said that if the protest by TDP MPs in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament over non-allocation of funds to the state is real and sincere, the party should support the bandh call and participate in it voluntarily.

He suggested to the MPs from the state that they fight for justice inside the House rather enacting dramas by showing placards outside. He said that bandh on February 8 was not only against the injustice in the Budget for also to demand Special Category Status, implementation of promises made in Parliament and Reorganisation Act.

He demanded that either TDP or BJP release a white paper on the status of the promises made to the state, if they are not supporting to the bandh call.
