A former English teacher was allegedly terminated for wearing western clothes to work at a Tirupati-based private school.

The teacher, Beulah Rani Ravada was appointed to Sree Vidyanikethan International School on September 4, 2017. However, barely three months into her job, she has been issued a termination letter indicating that her dressing - formal pants and full-sleeved shirt are not according to the standards of the school, and violated clauses 11 and 13 of the appointment letter.

The termination letter also mentioned her inability to complete the syllabus as a ground for her sacking.

The teacher, who has now taken up legal battle against the management to reclaim her job, honour and self-respect alleged that the reason was forced to justify the dismissal.

Ravada, who is married to an Anglo-Indian man revealed that she was summoned by the chairman who told her before a group of men that she shouldn't wear western clothes since she is a Telugu by birth.
