The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Crporation completed arrangements for the inauguration of Command Control Centre. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the centre on February 26. Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Friday visited the centre and reviewed the arrangements.
Visakhapatnam: The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation completed arrangements for the inauguration of Command Control Centre. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the centre on February 26. Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Friday visited the centre and reviewed the arrangements.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the Command Control Centre is one of the Smart City project works and equipped with the latest information technology and software. The centre was well equipped with cohesive system of computers that would track real-time motion progress of the city and it would be helpful to provide real time governance.
The centre, which primarily serves as an e-Government Centre, will also serve as a disaster management centre, housing several departments, including APPCB, revenue, tourism and police among others, and respond in a coordinated manner during emergencies.
With a view to enable an intelligent, data driven and people centric smart city, the PAN City proposal of Vishakhapatnam is a single proposal that combines effective e-Governance with enhanced disaster management system.
The main motto behind the centre is to improve citizen service delivery through seamless integration and proactive monitoring of department services, and to provide Common Operating Picture (COP) to GVMC and participating agencies within the Visakhapatanam district, respond effectively to disasters, manage crisis situations in a collaborative manner, improve public safety, and protect property The services introduced initially include, a revenue system, citizen charter, environmental data forecasting, pollution levels, temperatures and weather, bin monitoring, solid waste management, vehicle tracking, energy management system for street lighting and smart traffic and surveillance.
