Chiranjeevi, who already stayed away from active politics, is likely to bid adieu to politics in April. The film star turned politicial leader's Rajya Sabha MP term will come to an end on April 2.

Chiranjeevi has been busy with film shootings since last year. He stopped attending Congress Party programmes in Andhra where the party was almost lost its base after the bifurcation of the state. He merged his PRP with Congress and got union minister post as well as Rajya Sabha MP post in 2012.

Leaders said Chiranjeevi was not interested in pursuing politics as he wanted resume his film career and remain a film star in future also. Chiranjeevi was also not in touch with Congress high command. He also skipped meetings attended by AICC President Rahul Gandhi in Andhra in the previous years.
