Answering to members during the question hour in the Assembly on Thursday, the minister said a largest Shilparamam would be constructed in 50 acres area in the capital city of Amaravati.

Reiterating that the state government had entered into an agreement with National Institute of Fashion Design and National Institute of Technology for construction of Shilparamam in Amaravati, the minister said that food courts, training centre, lodging facilities and Amphi theatre would be constructed in the proposed Shilparamam in Amaravati.

Stating that all additional facilities would be provided in the existing Shilparamams in the state, Akhila Priya said that already six Shilparamams were set up in the state and the construction works of Shilparamams in Vizianagaram and Guntur city would be completed in a month.

The construction works of Shilparamams would be launched in Kurnool and Srikakulam districts soon, she added. The minister said that the government had released Rs 2.30 crore for the construction of Shilparamam in Kakinada and works would be completed by August.

The collectors of Srikakulam, West Godavari and Nellore were asked to provide suitable sites for construction of Shilparamams in the respective districts, she said. Akhila Priya said all the Shilparamams would be constructed highlighting the local culture and heritage and added the government would provide required facilities and solve the problems in the existing Shilparamams.

The minister said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was keen to set up Shilparamams in all districts with all required facilities. Highlighting poor maintenance in the existing Shilparamams, MLA Prabhakara Chowdary said generator sets should be provided at all Shilparamams in the state.
