Bhagat Singh turns atheist because of communal riots

He was speaking at a meeting held to mark Bhagat Singh's 87th death anniversary on Friday under the aegis of Forum for Better Bapatla in Bapatla town.
Although born as a Sikh, Bhagat Singh veered towards atheism after witnessing several Hindu-Muslim riots and other communal riots, Babu said.
“Bhagat Singh believed that something as precious as Independence can only be achieved by a thorough cleansing of the exploitative nature of imperialism. He said Bhagat Singh opined that such change can only be brought forward by means of an armed revolution, in similar lines to the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia.
He reminded that the latter’s slogan ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ transformed into the war cry of the Indian Independence movement,” he explained.
Advocates Zamrud Basha, M Siva, N Nagaiah, Forum secretary PC Sai Babu and others participated.
