Knee replacement surgeries telecast live from GGH to Vapi
Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao said the GGH in Guntur received international fame by telecasting live for the first time the knee replacement surgeries performed to two patients in the hospital to Vapi in Gujarat on Friday. The surgeries were performed by Dr Busireddy Narendra Reddy.

The surgeries were performed by Dr Busireddy Narendra Reddy.
The live telecast was watched by knee replacement surgeons from 25 countries who attended an international masters course. Though Sai Bhaskar Hospital was selected for performing the surgery and telecasting it live to Gujarat, Dr Narendra Reddy chose to perform the surgery at Government General Hospital. The surgeries were performed between 4 pm and 5.30 pm.
Prattipati Pulla Rao said the training imparted during the live programme conducted by Dr Narendra Reddy would be useful to the knee replacement surgeons. He lauded GGH for being in the forefront in imparting medical education. He appreciated Dr Narendra Reddy for conducting the programme at the GGH.
MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy said the live telecast of the surgery provided an educative experience to the medical students. Dr Narendra Reddy said he has been trying to get international fame to the GGH since 2015, his dream became a reality now.
Later, Prathipati Pulla Rao, MLAs Modugula Venugopala Reddy and Md Mustafa felicitated Dr.Narendra Reddy. Dr P Anil Babu, Dr M Siva Reddy and Dr Sandhya participated in the live knee replacement surgery.
