Visakhapatnam: Vizag Yachting Festival in the city continued on day two on Friday with adventurous water sports and rides on the blue waters from IFR Jetty to Rushikonda. However, with the adverse conditions on the sea, the captains of the fleet expressed their dissent to sail the yachts. Due to the heavy tides, the captains also faced problems to anchor the yachts.

The hospitality from the crew members attracted many tourists and enthusiastic participants on Friday. The yachts of Indian Navy and Coast Guard guided the fleet. However, due to the rough conditions prevailed, the captains not moved for second trip. Though six yachts arrived at the festival, two yachts were stopped due to technical snags. The organisers appointed fishermen as life guards by offering Rs 500 per day. Some of the fishermen boats also followed the yachts as a part of safety measures.

Meanwhile, District Collector Pravin Kumar said in release that to facilitate the people to witness the yachts, the public will be permitted to Fishing Harbour Passenger Jetty from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday and Sundays.
