Vijayawada: A tense situation prevailed in Chittinagar area of Vijayawada as YSRCP workers protested the removal of posters welcoming YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to Vijayawada. YS Jagan is touring Vijayawada on Saturday as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra.
TDP workers not only damaged the flexi banners and posters, but also installed local MLA Jaleel Khan’s posters Jaleel Khan, who won on the YSRCP ticket, had later defected to the TDP. The YSRCP workers, led by Vellampalli Srinivas and Parthasarathi staged a dharna and demanded that Jaleel Khan’s posters and banners be removed forthwith.
They threatened to tear down the banners if no action was taken immediately. They alleged that the TDP and the turncoat MLA were trying to create a law and order situation to stop YS Jagan from touring Krishna district. With the situation turning worse, the police intervened and removed Jaleel Khan’s banners.
