Activists of various parties staging dharna at Kotipalli bus station in Rajamahendravaram on Monday, as part of state bandh

Rajamahendravaram: The bandh which was observed on the call given by Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi to mount pressure on Central government for according SCS was peaceful here on Monday. From the early hours, the agitators staged dharna at RTC Complex and prevented the movement of RTC buses. The parties organised bike rallies and dharnas in the city raising slogans against Central government.

Because of the bandh, all the RTC buses were confined to depots. All private and government offices, schools, banks and business establishments were closed. Theatre managements cancelled morning and matinee shows.

YSRCP, CPI, CPM, Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the Congress took part in the bandh. The agitators went round the main road and other parts of the city with a request to business people to close their shops.

YSRCP leaders RSP Rao, M Sharmila Reddy, PK Reddy, JSP leader YS Rao, CPM leaders T Arun, TS Prakash, CPI leader NR Rao, Congress leader NS  Vasu and hundreds of activists of the political parties participated in the bandh.
