Rare surgery performed on cancer patient

Guntur: Doctors of Omega Hospital in Guntur city performed a rare surgery to a woman patient suffering from ovarian cancer.

She treated twice with surgery and twice with chemotherapy earlier for cancer and unfortunately the disease reoccurred once again.

After her admission to the hospital, the test conducted had confirmed that the disease was likely to spread to other organs in the body. Under these circumstances, the medical team at Omega Cancer Hospitals has come to a conclusion that cytoreductive surgery and hipec procedure were the best treatment initiated at the hospital.

In this system, cancer afflicted cells were removed using cytoreductive surgery followed by injecting chemo medicine directly into the stomach. Omega Hospitals managing director Dr Naga Kishore expressed satisfaction over the rare surgery.
