Eluru: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) K Eswara Rao called upon the people not to believe the rumours spreading in social media on the suspicious movements of Pardhi gang and other gangs who are kidnapping children and selling their organs.

Addressing media conference at his office on Monday here, the DSP said that there were rumours spreading in WhatsApp and other social media stating that the Pardhi gang and children kidnapping gangs were wandering in West Godavari district.

“The social media rumours are spreading that these gangs kidnapping children and selling their vital organs. It is not correct and those rumours are baseless. No such incidents have taken place in Andhra Pradesh and the neighbouring states. I request the people not to believe such rumours.”

The DSP said that there were incidents of attacks on new persons and nomadic tribes, mentally challenged people under the influence of these rumours. He said that such attacks were illegal and if anyone attacked those persons, stringent action will be initiated against the offenders.

The DSP suggested the people to call the concerned police stations or dial 100 if they found any new and suspicious persons around their areas. He said the police vigilant on the entry of new persons in the Eluru sub-division and other areas in the district.

Eluru 1-town CI Adapa Naga Murali, 2-town CI G Madhu Babu, 3-town CI Srinivasa Rao attended the media conference. Meanwhile, Jangareddigudem DSP Ch Muralikrishna asked the people not to believe the rumours on the gangs. He reiterated that no such gangs, psychos are wandering in Jangareddigudem sub-division area.
