Minister Sidda Raghava Rao and MLA Dr Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy inspected the Vana Chaitanya Ratham, inflatable whale, Ongole bulls and inaugurated the exhibition.

After inaugurating the programme, the minister said that biodiversity is need for the survival of mankind on the earth. He said that biodiversity is the main factor that keeps the nature in equilibrium and plants, animals, insects and all other living beings are part of the environment.

He announced that everyone should take care of animals, trees and forests. He said that the Chief Minister wants to increase the green cover in the state from 23 per cent to 50 per cent by 2029.

He asked the public to participate in the planting the seedlings at private and industrial lands. He said that in the last four years, the government planted 50 crore seedlings and only last year it has increased the green cover by 2140 square kilometres to receive the national award.

SBL Misra, State Biodiversity Board chairman, said that India is home for a variety of biodiversity, and the board is working to preserve it and pass on to the future generations. The minister and the officials released posters and presented awards to people for protecting the biodiversity.
