Mastercard to benefit farmers: Collector S Satyanarayana
To eliminate the role of middlemen, the State government is planning to introduce a Mastercard which enables the farmers to sell their produce directly to the buyers for satisfactory prices, said District Collector S Satyanarayana.
Kurnool: To eliminate the role of middlemen, the State government is planning to introduce a Mastercard which enables the farmers to sell their produce directly to the buyers for satisfactory prices, said District Collector S Satyanarayana.
An awareness workshop was conducted by the Horticulture department to the farmers at the State Guest House here on Friday. Farmers were informed about the advantages of using Mastercard. Kenya Daniel Hugo, Director of Mastercard, software engineer James and AP Mastercard Manager Gopi Krishna have participated in the programme.
Addressing the farmers and officials, the Collector said that the government has taken a novel decision of creating a common platform for farmers and buyers. He further stated the Mastercard would be integrated with the mobile after developing a web application. Even the seeds, fertilisers, pesticides companies and financial organisations would be integrated with the Mastercard, the Collector informed.
Deputy Director of Horticulture MKV Srinivasulu, Assistant Director of Horticulture B Raghunath Reddy, horticulture officers and the members of farm produce organisations were present.
