Amaravati: Criticising TDP became a routine part of life of Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, particularly since he took charge as BJP state president, said TDP state president Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat on Monday, Kala Venkata Rao said Lakshminarayana was making baseless criticism of TDP to benefit the opposition party YSRCP. Pointing to the meagre strength of the BJP in the state, he said that any attack that they launch against TDP would directly benefit the YSRCP but not BJP.

Substantiating the criticism of TDP against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP, the energy minister said that the people would continue to criticise, demand and fight against them since they cheated the state. The BJP first cheated and is now involved in collusive politics in the state to damage TDP, he said.

Terming supporting the YSRCP and its president YS Jaganmohan Reddy as nothing but supporting criminals and the party of criminals, he said Jaganmohan Reddy was a criminal who indulged in the crime of money laundering for which he was put behind bars by the courts for more than 16 months. Not only the Jagan, but also his party leaders and others were involved in corruption charges, he added.

The people will not remain silent since the BJP was joining hands with criminals in the state, he said referring to the YSRCP leaders. Reacting to the criticism on law and order in the state under the TDP governance, Vekata Rao asserted that law and order situation was good in the state and people would not believe the criticism of BJP leaders since they were witnessing the situation themselves for the last four years.

He alleged that BJP leaders were trying to divert the people’s attention from Special Category Status and other demands by staging agitations in the state. When asked about the BJP’s demand for a probe on the party national president Amit Shah at Tirupati, he said that it was not a deliberate act by anyone as being portrayed by the BJP leaders.
