Mines Assistant Geologist resumes duty again
Mines and geology department, Srikakulam division assistant geologist (AG) Dr R Pratap Reddy joined again in Srikakulam office on Monday. After joining in the district in November 2017, the AG imposed Rs 20 crore as penalty on different quarry units managements.

His action against Ponduru ZPTC member and ruling TDP leader Lolugu Sriramulu Naidu’s Naga Gayatri Stone Crusher turned as controversy.
As the ZPTC is close associate of Amudalavalasa MLA and government whip Kuna Ravi Kumar, they threatened the AG and warned him to withdraw notices against the crusher and stop imposing penalty.
Finally, they influenced a minister from Srikakulam district and transferred the AG on May 31. On learning about it a higher official of the district involved and started work to stop the transfer by saying that the AG is collecting revenue to the government.
