In the wake of the recent protest by the Nayee Brahmins (barbers), the general administrative department has introduced tough measures.
Now the GAD has asked the peshis of various ministers not to issue passes and make phone calls asking people to be allowed. The peshis have to register the details of the visitors online and only then, the latter will get passes. They can go only to the department for which the pass is issued.
On Monday, the temple barbers had gheraoed Chandrababu inside the secretariat. This made Chandrababu furious and he took the officials of the GAD to task for allowing ‘all and sundry’ into the secretariat..
The people of the state are angry at the restrictions. How can the people be denied entry into the secretariat, constructed with the public money, they asked and demanded that the government reconsider its decision.
