Nellore: City Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz informed Anna canteens would be inaugurated on July 11, aiming to provide food at low cost. He inspected a construction of Anna canteen at Pedda Bazaar fish market in the city here on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, Mayor said that they would provide quality food for Rs 5 per a meal to the people, students and also for workers from the unorganised sector.
‘Anna Canteens are being set up at Old Municipal Office, AC Subbareddy Vegetable Market, Haranathapuram PWD office, Auto Nagar, Atmakur Bus Stand, Vedayapalem Centre, Podalakur Road, Government Hospital and in other two places,” said the Mayor.
Nellore Municipal Corporation would monitor quality of food in the canteens, he added. Aziz further said that unemployed youth would be getting jobs through the canteens. Local TDP leaders were present.
