Eluru: MLA Badeti Kota Rama Rao (Bujji) has said the number of students in government schools had increased considerably because of provision of basic infrastructure facilities by the State government.

Along with Mayor Noorjahan, the MLA distributed tie, belt and diaries to the schoolchildren here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he informed that as against 6,500 student strength in schools under corporation limits last year, the present year strength has increased to 7,000. This was clear indication that parents were interested to admit their children in government schools.

The MLA informed that the government schools had been competing with corporate schools in all aspects. The government had provided infrastructure facilities in schools with the spending of Rs 10 crore. A sum of Rs 50 crore was spent on construction of school buildings.
