Hyderabad: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts on July 13 as the cyclonic circulation over north coastal Odisha and its neighbourhood persists.

The Met department bulletin said a trough from Odisha to south Tamil Nadu along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh is also persisting. A low-pressure area is very likely to form over north Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood during next 24 hours. Another low-pressure area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal around July 16.

According to the bulletin, the Southwest monsoon was active in coastal Andhra and normal in Rayalaseema. Rain occurred at many places in coastal Andhra region and at a few places in Rayalaseema. Heavy rain occurred at isolated places in West Godavari district, with Tadepalligudem recording 7 cm of rainfall. Bhimadole and Tanuku and Palakoderu in West Godavari registered 6 and 5 cm of rainfall respectively.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in the state were: Vijayawada Airport, Kaikalur, Nuzvid (all in Krishna) 5 each, Prathipadu (EG), Eluru (WG), Tiruvuru (Krishna) , Amalapuram ( EG) , Bhimavaram (WG), Macherla (Guntur) 4 each.

There was 3 cm of rain each in Paleru Bridge (Krishna), Chintalapudi (WG), Nandigama (Krishna), Velairpad (WG), Rajahmundry, Dowleswaram, Vararamachandrapur (all in EG), Kukunoor (WG), Jangamaheswarapuram (Guntur), Gudivada, Lepakshi, Hindupur (both in Anantapur) 3 each.

Two cm of rain each occurred in Machilipatnam, Atchampet, Narsapuram, Koyyalagudem, Piduguralla, Sattenapalle, Araku Valley, Polavaram, Tuni, Prakasam Barrage, Lam, Yerragondapalem, Chittoor, Chilamathur, Gorantla, Rolla and Amadagur.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few/many/isolated places in coastal and Rayalaseema districts from July 13 to 16. No large change during the period July 17-19 in the weather outlook.
