Tirupati: Traimasika Metlotsavam was observed with religious fervour at Alipiri during wee hours on Monday. Sri Vidya Prasannatheertha Swamy of Kukke Subramanya Swamy Mutt, Karnataka, addressed the devotees who came from various places to participate in the Utsavam.

He recalled that the holy trekking was carried out by many saints, emperors, ardent devotees of Lord Venkateswara and explained the significance of walkathon along the sacred Alipiri footpath.

After the Swamiji performed pooja, over 3,000 Bhajanaparas hailing from AP, TS, TN and Karnataka started trekking the Alipiri footpath route rendering devotional songs of Purandhara, Kanaka, Narayana, Vijayadasa and reached Tirumala with utmost devotion. Dasa Sahitya Project Special Officer Dr P Ananda Teertha Charylu supervised the arrangements.
