Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana directed the officials concerned to complete the assigned works with coordinated efforts as per schedule. He convened and participated in a review meeting held on village modernisation (Rurban) works at his camp office here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that around 11 villages in Alur mandal were selected under Rurban Mission for modernisation. He stated the government has sanctioned Rs 23 crore for providing amenities such as uninterrupted power supply, laying of cement concrete roads, construction of underground drainage system, implementation of solid waste management, setting up skill development centres and organising training programmes, construction of compound walls and kitchen sheds and others. So far, 26 works were completed at a cost of Rs 1.21 crore and the remaining need to be completed at the earliest, he stated.

The Collector instructed the officials to complete laying of internal roads and underground drainage by the end of September. He also reviewed the construction of Anganwadi bhavans and skill development centres. ZP CEO Vishweshwara Naidu, DWMA PD Venkata Subbaiah, DRDA PD Ramakrishna, Alur MPDO Vijay Bhaskar, DEO Tehara Sultana and other officials participated in the review meeting.
