Visakhapatnam: Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University Prof G Nageswara Rao agreed to provide more facilities at Dr VS Krishna Library. He directed the officials to provide facilities in the library as per the demand of the students. The Vice-Chancellor also agreed to allow former students into the library.

Andhra University students on Thursday met the Vice-Chancellor and urged him to expand the library to falicitate more students. With the present facilities in the library, the students have been facing tough times due to lack of washrooms.

Right now, the management is not allowing the former university students into the library. Hence, students are agitating asking the management to allow the former students for reading books in the library.

After a meeting with the students, the Vice-Chancellor convened a meeting with the officials and reviewed the facilities in the library and students demands. During the meeting, the management has decided to develop the third floor of the library into a reading room. Drinking water facility, two toilet blocks construction would be taken up immediately, the Vice-Chancellor informed.

The Vice-Chancellor accepted the former students demand and directed the library officials to allow them. He also agreed to conduct special training classes to the students who are preparing for competitive examinations.

Registrar K Niranjan, Academic Dean Prof MVR Raju, Students Affairs Dean Prof G Sudhakar, librarian Prof K Visweswara Rao and Security Dean Prof N Satyanarayana were present in the discussion with the students.
